Charity vintage tractor trek from Scotland to Scandinavia

Peter Matheson, decided to do something extraordinary to raise awareness of teenage cancer, when the son of a family friend passed away last year at the age of just 19. He set a goal of raising £100,000 for the Tom Bowdidge Foundation and UNICEF. But how was he to do it?

To Peter, the answer was obvious; buy a vintage 1972 MF 135 tractor, name her 'Annie' and drive 8000 miles! The entire trip will take an estimated three to four months.

Peter has made ‘Annie’ roadworthy, with the help of a new set of wheels donated by Massey Ferguson. He will travel from John O'Groats to Land’s End, then to Dover, across the water and pass through France, Germany and Scandinavia to Nordkapp, hopefully witnessing the Aurora Borealis along the way. He’ll then drive ‘Annie’ back through Finland and up to John O'Groats, via Lands End!

This impressive journey named 'Tractor Bumble 2014' is to commence on Saturday 9th August.
Peter’s faithful Labrador, Amber, will keep him company along the way!
