In the continuing quest for total connectivity across all farm operations, Massey Ferguson, has announced a software upgrade making functionalities of its tractor Datatronic 4 Control Centre Display (CCD) console fully-compliant with the latest agricultural industry standards.

The in-cab CCD console has been certified to conform to the TC-SC and TC-Bas functionalities of the Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF). This means that when connecting the tractor to an ISOBUS implement with the same AEF certifications, those functionalities will work from the tractor terminal to control the implement.

The certification will apply to new MF tractors fitted with Datatronic 4 from May 2015. It will be possible to upgrade existing tractors equipped with Datatronic 4 to the AEF standard via the MF dealer network.

Massey Ferguson’s industry-leading CCD puts the operator in total command of the tractor, enabling a whole raft of operations to be monitored, logged, programmed, memorised and played back. The Task Controller function within the CCD allows the operator to set up specific ‘jobs’ on the farm and then to record the data for each job. Exporting the data permits full analysis in the farm office or alternatively, jobs can be set up in the office and imported into the tractor console. The CCD’s Section Control function interfaces with farm implements. It enables sections of an implement such as a spreader or sprayer to be switched on and off to ensure inputs are only applied in desired areas and are not put down in areas which have already been covered
