Beauvais welcomes CEJA

Massey Ferguson hosted the European Council of Young Farmers (CEJA) Working Group meeting at its manufacturing facility in Beauvais, France on 31 October.

“As a major partner of CEJA, we were delighted to welcome delegates to Beauvais, home of MF tractor production in Europe,” says Thierry Lhotte, Vice President Marketing, Massey Ferguson Europe/Africa/Middle East.

October’s CEJA Working Group focused on the role of agriculture in EU Free Trade Agreements, in particular the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) currently being negotiated by the EU and the USA.

As well as a packed conference programme, the 30 delegates from ten different countries enjoyed a tour of the factory.

“It has been a pleasure to hold our Working Group at the Massey Ferguson facility,” said Matteo Bartolini, President of CEJA. “Young farmers feel most at home surrounded by innovation and productivity, another example of why Massey Ferguson and CEJA’s partnership is such a constructive one. We are both dedicated to the future of farming and the role of young people in its development.”

CEJA, which represents around two million European young farmers, co-ordinates seminars, conferences, public debates and written reports, and directs the concerns of young farmers towards the European institutions.
