Remanufactured Components Deliver Top Quality Performance

Massey Ferguson reports that more than 500 key components spanning 15 product groups are now available under the AGCO Reman scheme for MF tractors and combines. The range covers all generations of machines from the late 1970s through to current production models

AGCO Reman is the ideal low-cost solution to breathe new life into ageing or worn Massey Ferguson farm machinery. With new products being added on a regular basis, the scheme includes engines and engine components, transmissions, turbochargers, fuel injection equipment and electronic components.

“Typically, a remanufactured engine, for example, costs 30% less than the price of a new unit and yet has the same performance, the same specification and comes with a full 12 months warranty – identical to an equivalent new engine,” says Russ Wheatley, AGCO Reman Business Manager.

“AGCO Reman offers a cost-effective alternative where ‘new’ may be beyond budget but where a quick solution at known cost is required,” he explains. “We take in a customer’s old unit and they receive a remanufactured unit from our bank of AGCO Reman products. Customers have the peace of mind knowing that the Reman part has been fully tested, meets the original manufacturer’s specification and is fully warrantied exactly as per new.”

“Where AGCO Reman really scores is when it is compared to a third-party local workshop repair,” Russ points out. “A third party non-specialist repair may take longer as damaged or broken parts have to be identified and ordered. Compare this to a Reman solution where we ship out a replacement unit in exchange which is ready to fit the very next day by a Massey Ferguson dealer. The unit is virtually as-new with the full back-up of the dealer and AGCO’s warranty – all at a competitive price.”

All AGCO Reman parts follow a common process making it easy for a customer to return the used part. Under the scheme, the unit is collected and returned to one of 26 centres of excellence where it is stripped down to individual components parts, each of which is thoroughly cleaned, inspected and measured against the original specification. Items within tolerance are put to one side and re-used alongside new components and then reassembled and fully-tested to the same exacting standards as a new product. All wear parts and other specific items are replaced with brand-new components regardless of the condition of the existing ones.

With technology constantly moving on, any engineering updates which have been made since the product was first released are also incorporated. “This means that in certain cases, the Reman part is actually better than the original,” adds Russ. “AGCO Reman is a very quick and environmentally-friendly option. The whole process can be completed in a day or two, thereby minimising machine downtime.”
