Spurred on by a true spirit of adventure, Brian Tuson is taking part in an expedition to the Rwenzori – the Mountains of the Moon in Uganda, the largest snow and glacial mountain range in Africa.

Brian, AGCO Africa and Middle East Special Projects Controller, is being part-sponsored on this challenging endurance test by Massey Ferguson and AGCO Africa.

“The team-building expedition is designed to foster personal development through mental and physical resilience in order that the experience can be taken back into the workplace,” explains Brian. “The capacity of people to bounce back from adversity and manage a series of constantly changing scenarios with steadiness and courage is key to leadership.”

“We will be a team of four, led by an experienced expedition leader (John Peck, an accredited AGCO team trainer) together with a specialist doctor. The two-week trek will take us across very difficult terrain including swampland, bogs, jungle and then through high altitude vegetation culminating in a climb through snow and ice-fields to the top of Mount Stanley at 5109 metres (17,000 ft).”

As well as a personal development journey, the expedition members will also be raising money for various charities including one in Uganda.
