Massey Ferguson’s latest ‘one stop shop’ arrives in Southam

It was another landmark day in Lister Wilder’s coveted history as it opened its eighth branch, this time in Southam, Warwickshire. The brand new branch houses a ‘one stop shop’ for farmers, contractors and horticulturists alike.

The new 14,000 square feet premises with its spacious showroom, extensive parts storage and well-equipped repair workshops are on two acres of land acquired from a local farmer. Lister Wilder dates from 1947 and has grown steadily over the past 30 years. AGCOs recent review of its dealer network gave the company the opportunity to expand into Warwickshire. “It is one of the country’s great mixed farming areas with a strong arable base which is particularly relevant to us,” says Lister Wilder Managing Director Ian Nutt. “It nicely joins onto our existing territory and it is good to be in the backyard of AGCOs UK headquarters.

The changeable weather didn’t seem to put people off during Lister Wilder’s open day. Visitors flocked from far and wide to view the machinery and implements on show, meet the staff at the depot and generally get together to discuss the issues of the day. “We’ve had a great reaction to our open day,” says Operations Director Jason Scott. “If people are investing in agriculture, they want a dealership they can depend on; we have over 50 mobile technicians countrywide and an excellent service and support reputation. We’re always busy so we’re off to a good start.”

Talking of reputation, Ian Nutt adds “We are a wholly –owned family business and we like to think that comes through in our relationships with both our staff and customers. There are many cases where we have dealt with three generations of the same farming family.”

Lister Wilders offers a truly pleasant environment so if you’re in the area, do visit, you’re in for a warm welcome.
