MF 6616 makes its debut in Jersey

A brand new MF 6616 found a new home recently on the Island of Jersey. Le Pav Ltd are a local business who specialise in Agricultural Contracting, Pasture Renovation and Maintenance and local timber and have just taken ownership of Massey Ferguson’s latest mid-horsepower offering, supplied by Tractor Services C.I. Ltd.

Oli Simmons of Le Pav Ltd is the main operator of this machine and told us: “At the moment, I’m using it mainly for carting maize and as you can see from the photographs, we set up a new plough and tractor combination which is working fantastically well. I’ve found some great features.”

“I am still learning about all the Datatronic functions on the tractor. Our local dealer has arranged for a Massey Ferguson technician and demonstrator to come over this week to train us up. It’s an exciting time for us all. They will also be demonstrating Auto-Guide, this will be the first time it’s been used in Jersey and is something we’ve been looking into for a while, it could be a real benefit to us.” Oli told us.

“Overall, I think the ride comfort and ease of operation is excellent. The turning circle is also very impressive for a tractor of its size and it makes a real difference when operating in narrow lanes and small yards.
I’m really looking forward to the beginning of January when we start the new ploughing season for the potatoes here.  Overall I’m really pleased with it and the support given by our local Massey Ferguson dealer, Tractor Services C.I. Ltd.”

In the coming weeks we’ll be following Oli’s progress with the Sales and Training team and the Auto-Guide demonstration, so we’ll keep you posted.
