Growing demand for Massey Ferguson tractors is to see the creation of 100 new jobs at the AGCO facility in Beauvais, France. This comes on top of the 100 new positions established there in 2012.

“Despite continuing global economic uncertainty, we are making substantial investments at the Beauvais site and preparing ourselves for the future,” comments Richard Markwell, Président Directeur Général AGCO SA and Vice President and Managing Director Massey Ferguson, Europe, Africa and Middle East. “Our investments are aimed at ensuring we are agile, lean and responsive, thus enabling us to adapt our strategy to shifts in the market.”

2012 was an exceptional year for the Beauvais factory. Production rose by 15% to 17,400 tractors compared to 2011 – a year which had already shown an increase of 20% over 2010. The plant is France’s premier producer and exporter of farm machinery with 85% of tractors going to 140 countries worldwide. Today, with 2200 employees, the workforce has almost doubled in ten years.

“Agriculture and agricultural machinery are growing sectors,” continues Richard Markwell. “The main objective for the Beauvais site and the Massey Ferguson brand is to make investments to offer our customers products that are in line with the changes of feeding a rapidly growing global population while still maintaining our competitive edge. These new job opportunities, combined with the opening of our new tractor cab production facility in September 2013, will enable us to achieve these goals.”

The Beauvais programme involves the recruitment of 40 Operators and Manufacturing Technicians, 40 Designers and Engineers plus a range of jobs in support services including Marketing, Sales and Product Training.
