Join the MF IDEAL revolution
The Ideal harnesses industry leading technology to deliver more grain at the best quality, for you. It’s the first “clean-sheet” design of a combine in 30 years—a machine based not on what has come before, but on what producers like you have told us they need, and what we’ve tested in some of the most rigorous trials ever initiated by a farm equipment manufacturer.
Over the past six years and continuing today, we’ve sought input from producers the world over. We’ve heard from combine operators who, collectively, grow every crop harvested by combines in practically every condition.

Superb grain and straw quality
The MF IDEAL’s low compression and extra-long rotors, which are gentle on straw, avoid contamination of the sample. The Dual Helix (double rotors) system on the MF IDEAL 8 and MF IDEAL 9 boasts the largest main threshing concave area on the market – a massive 1.66m² – 25% bigger than any other combine in the industry. This assures low grain losses at high output and delivers more grain in the tank per hectare. During threshing, low pressure on the straw mat damages less grain, producing a better quality, cleaner grain sample.
The new IDEALharvest™ self-adjusting function option makes life effortless for the driver. Using the grain-quality camera and unique Acoustic Sensors around the combine, a very straightforward dashboard can be brought up on the Tech Touch Terminal or the SmartConnect™ App which allows the operator to choose a combination of quality, performance and sample cleanliness for his harvest. The machine itself then fine-tunes the rotor speed, fan speed and sieve opening.
Working on slopes
The MF IDEAL combines are fitted with the unique IDEALbalance™ grain-pan system. With no extra moving parts, the combination of the two specially-shaped under-rotor pans is insensitive to slopes up to 15% and places the grain mix in exactly the right position for the separation pan, sieve box and fan to produce a clean sample at high output.
Managing residue successfully
The MF IDEAL combine makes incorporation easy as the new design of the chopper enables the material to be spread more evenly over a wider area. This is because the distribution of material from the ShortCut chopper can match the full width of the header, up to 12m using the unique, low powerrequirement ActiveSpread feature.
Exceptional cab comfort and visibility
The MF IDEAL’s brand-new, ultra-quiet Vision Cab includes new additions such as a new ventilated seat, an optional large fridge unit and extra storage which make it even more comfortable and stress-free for the driver. A new information dashboard shows the combine’s vital statistics – for example, grain loss - in constant view. The ability to move the main Tech Touch terminal 90 degrees to the operator’s right further enhances visibility of the header.
Technology & Innovation
One gearbox, attached directly to the engine, drives all main components of the combine: the processor, cleaning system and hydraulic pumps, as well as the header, including today’s newest corn chopper heads.
MF IDEAL Engines
The IDEAL is available in three models with power and capacity to suit different requirements of producers and operators. IDEAL 7: AGCO Power, 9.8 Lt, 451 HP | IDEAL 8: MAN 12.4L/ 538 HP | IDEAL 9: MAN 15.2L/ 647 HP
Fewer Belts and Wet Clutches
Because belts can siphon off power via slippage and breakage, the IDEAL uses fewer of them than other combines. Wet clutches on the DriveCenter also ensure smooth engagement, thereby reducing wear and tear—and maintenance—on each component.
When hooking-up the header from a header trailer or from the ground, the operator simply presses a button in the cab and all the connections - mechanical, electrical and hydraulic - are made automatically by a robotised process.
Exceptional Cab Visibility
Narrow pillars in the cab offer a fantastic panoramic view with excellent all-round visibility through a massive glass area of 5.75m². Many of the operator tasks now have short-cuts to make the machine easier to operate.
LED lights, single rear-view, multiple or 3D camera options improve visibility for long hours working.
Optional Pro Sound System
A higher specification Pro Sound system can be supplied as an option.
IDEAL also offers the Streamer 140, which unloads at 140L/sec. With the option of a 17,100L grain tank (standard on the IDEAL 9), the IDEAL combine features one of the largest capacity in the industry.
Available as a standard feature on the IDEAL 9 and as an option on IDEAL 7 and 8, the Streamer 210 unloads at 210L/sec.
Dual Helix Rotors
The Dual Helix (double rotors) system on the MF IDEAL 8 and MF IDEAL 9 boasts the largest main threshing concave area on the market – a massive 1.66m² – 25% bigger than any other combine in the industry.
Dual Helix Processor Length
At 4.8m long, it’s almost 60cm longer than the nearest competitor, allowing the material to generate huge centrifugal force at a much lower speed and remain in the rotor longer.
On all models, unloading speed and grain tank capacity are coupled with an innovative auger that is gentle on grain, ensuring less damage, and it requires less power than older systems.
Dual Helix Processor
As compared to other systems, the dual helix processor requires as little as 50% less power to operate in a variety of crop conditions. Yet, while the rotor is exceptionally efficient, its threshing and separating performance is best-in-class.
Due to durable polymer construction and large service panels, both return pans are easily removable for ease of maintenance.
Specially Moulded Pans
Reduced sensitivity to hillside harvesting is achieved with specially moulded pans evenly distribute the material over the cleaning shoe without adding complex active systems.
The TrakRide system ensures exceptional performance and comfort, while reducing maintenance and enhancing reliability, all of which help ensure the combine is up and running at full capacity in short harvest windows.
TrakRide Belt Sizes
TrakRide is available with three different belt sizes, 26‘, 30‘ and 36‘, featuring a unique suspension system with belt tensioning integrated. The system maximises combine footprint and reduces soil compaction.
Mass Acoustic Detection Systems - MADS
Measuring the differences in acoustic qualities, the sensors can determine what is grain and what is not and direct the IDEALharvest system to change the necessary combine settings–all to maintain the operator’s harvest strategy.
IDEALharvest Touch Screen Tablet
Real time visualisation enhances control. The harvest strategy itself is set by an easy-to-use touch-screen tablet, allowing the operator to select preferences for minimizing grain damage, loss and material other than grain (MOG) in the bin.
The IDEALharvest system offers unprecedented, real-time visualization of crop flow within the combine via a special grain-quality camera and numerous sensors, including mass acoustic detection sensors (MADS).

Customer Reviews & Testimonials
An Oxfordshire farming family which replaced two combines with one larger Massey Ferguson IDEAL 9PL remains delighted with the decision after the combine completed its third harvest this year.
A Lincolnshire farm which previously struggled to achieve satisfactory harvesting speeds without incurring high grain losses, changed to a Massey Ferguson Ideal 7 combine for the 2020 harvest and is very happy with the result.
C&R Moscrop & Sons
It performed exceptionally well - that’s the verdict of a West Yorkshire-based farmer and contractor after his first harvest with a new Massey Ferguson Ideal 7 PL combine.
