HARVESTING THE MAGIC OF THE FESTIVE SEASON
At the end of last year, a quarter of a million UK homes were adorned with Christmas trees nurtured and harvested by two robust Massey Ferguson tractors. The MF 7718 S Dyna-6 Efficient and MF 6S.155 Dyna-VT Exclusive are the backbone of Cadeby Tree Trust’s fleet, a family-owned business in Leicestershire dedicated to producing top-quality UK-grown Christmas trees.

Cadeby Tree Trust, led by Production Director Tom Theobald, grows around 250,000 trees annually, primarily supplying nurseries and farm shops.
The trees, including popular non-needle drop varieties like Nordmann Fir, Noble Fir, and Fraser Fir, are cultivated on a 10-year cycle across 250 hectares of family-owned and rented land.
The Massey Ferguson tractors, chosen for their performance and reliability, work year-round. From January’s field clearing to spring and summer’s trimming and fertilizing, these tractors ensure the trees are perfectly maintained. The tractors’ GPS guidance system is crucial for planting and maintaining straight rows, enhancing efficiency and reducing chemical weed control.
During the busy harvest season, additional tractors and telehandlers join the fleet, each capable of net-wrapping up to 1,100 trees per day. Trees are loaded onto a low-level conveyor at the front of the tractor, wrapped, and carried on a belt past the cab, then stacked on a rear-mounted pallet platform before being transferred onto trailers for transport.
With the support of local dealer Chandlers (MF) Ltd, Cadeby Tree Trust continues to thrive, bringing festive joy to homes across the UK and beyond.
