Nominations are now open for the 2024 Sowing Good Deeds contest.
DULUTH, GA | May 1, 2024 | AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AGCO), a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, is excited to announce the eighth annual Massey Ferguson Sowing Good Deeds contest. The award recognizes charitable services, civic involvement and educational activities of local Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) rodeo committees to their schools, towns and the greater ag community. Nominations for 2024 are now open and will run through September 1, 2024. Finalists will be announced October 11, 2024, with the grand prize winner named at the PRCA Awards Banquet in Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 4, 2024. The winning rodeo committee receives a new Massey Ferguson 4700 Series tractor, valued at over $60,000, as part of the prize package.
“Local rodeos are a vital part of the fabric of America that don’t get recognized nearly enough,” said Matt LeCroy, Director, West Regional Sales for Massey Ferguson North America. “These organizations work tirelessly to improve their local communities by not only bringing economic opportunity to towns but through their support of ag organizations like FFA and 4-H that represent the future of our industry. Sowing Good Deeds shines a spotlight on the generosity and services provided by rodeo committees across the United States. We’re proud to recognize these unsung heroes who selflessly give their time and talents to make our ag communities stronger.”
Sowing Good Deeds is open to all PRCA-sanctioned rodeo committees within the contiguous 48 states and District of Columbia, regardless of size. Participants are evaluated on their commitment to community involvement, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to adapt to challenges and overcome adversity. Entries consist of a series of essays describing the rodeo committee’s community impact through volunteer efforts, community initiatives and community projects, efforts to initiate change within their community, and how they overcome challenges to build a stronger, more sustainable organization.
“PRCA rodeos raise millions of dollars for their local charities across the country,” said Tom Glause, PRCA CEO. “Partnering with Massey Ferguson’s Sowing Good Deeds program allows us to recognize and reward committees for their charitable efforts. We couldn’t be prouder of our 600-plus committees and all they contribute to make a difference for their communities.”
