Iconic branding highlights innovation

The MARK 2 branding recognises Massey Ferguson’s strong heritage while distinguishing the new generation MF 7S MARK 2 machines from earlier models and celebrating significant upgrades. ‘MARK’ model naming appeared on notable earlier tractors in the company’s history, including the MF 65 MARK I, the MF 65 MARK II and MF 165 MARK III. Having revived it for the latest MF 7S MARK 2 series, the company will continue using it to identify series updates across the full-line product range in future.

The new tractors have a frame optimised for the application. The 2.95m wheelbase combines excellent manoeuvrability with impressive stability for field and transport tasks while increasing traction capability and reducing the front ballast requirement when lifting heavy rear implements. A new front axle contributes to an ultra-tight 5.3m turning radius.

Massey Ferguson and BKT teamed up to co-engineer brand-new 2.0 m diameter rear tyre sizes from the AGRIMAX V-FLECTO range, a BKT pattern that has already received DLG approved recognition in specific tested sizes. Specially tailored for these new tractor models both new rear sizes, VF 650/70 R42 and VF 710/60 R44, are matched with VF 600/65 R30 front tyres, delivering a combination of working efficiency, grip, large footprint and minimal soil compaction for tractors of this power and weight.

Brand new engine

All six models use the latest Core engine – the new, multi-award-winning, in-house engine family from AGCO Power. In this new tractor series, it appears in a 6-cylinder, 7.5-litre version with a single turbo, and with 25% fewer parts than its predecessors for reduced mechanical complexity and even better long-term reliability. Stage V emissions standards are met without the need for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR).

Maximum power is available across a wide engine speed band, while the torque curve remains flat between 800 and 1,500rpm for all six new models. The highly efficient power and torque characteristics of the new engines mean maximum performance is always available, without needing EPM.

Early field tests have demonstrated superior fuel efficiency compared to previous generation engines as well as key market segment competitors, and full HVO compatibility enables reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

Ensuring maximum time spent working in the field, the new tractors come with a large, 410-litre fuel tank (+25% compared to MF 7S) and a 56.5-litre AdBlue tank (+88% compared to MF 7S). An optional reversible fan is available to keep cooling packs clear and reduce time needed for grille cleaning.

Two air compressor options are available. A single compressor is standard with pneumatic braking systems and provides up to 310 litres/min air flow at 2,100 engine rpm. For working with CTIS systems as well as the most demanding air-driven implements, a new high-output, twin-piston compressor produces up to 800 litres/min of air flow at 2,100rpm.

Proven Dyna-VT transmission

All MF 7S MARK 2 models come with Massey Ferguson’s ultra-flexible Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission. Stepless speed control is available through two speed ranges. New features include standard ParkLock and emergency brakes, and 57kph maximum speed capability (depending on local market).

Available with the Dyna-VT transmission, a four-speed PTO ensures compatibility with a wider range of implements.

High-capacity hydraulics are standard, including multiple closed-centre, load-sensing pump options delivering 110, 150 or up to 190 litres/min maximum hydraulic oil flow. Efficient version tractors can be equipped with up to four hydraulic valves: either four mechanical or, in a configuration exclusive to Massey Ferguson, a mixed package of mechanical and electro-hydraulic valves with decompression levers for easy connection.

Exclusive specification tractors can have up to five electric valves, each capable of delivering up to 120 litres/min of flow and all with decompression levers included as standard.

Separate transmission and hydraulic oil reservoirs prevent contamination and allow up to 96 litres to be exported, ensuring these tractors can easily tip the biggest trailers and operate large, complex implements.

Rear linkage 9.6t lift capacity contributes to higher productivity through the ability to work with larger implements.

Up to six front hydraulic valves can be specified, allowing operation of a front linkage, two additional valves and a third live loader simultaneously.

The roomiest cab in its class

MF 7S MARK 2 tractors come with a facelift version of the spacious cab which has proved popular since its introduction on the MF 8S series. Massey Ferguson’s exclusive Protect-U design, with a 15cm gap physically separating the cab from the encapsulated engine, reduces noise, vibration and heat transmission to the operator station while also allowing the inclined windscreen to be fully cleaned by the front wiper, unlike main competitors.

Datatronic 6

The new tractors feature a brand new Datatronic 6, 12in touch-screen terminal with a redesigned user interface to simplify machine settings. Twice as large as the previous generation, this new, higher resolution interface is used for machine set-up and control, and for guidance and data management. Increased viewing options include customisable ‘tiles’ in three sizes.

Improved working environment

The Visio roof option uses new 8mm polycarbonate rather than glass. This removes the need for a FOPS grid, improving the operator’s view. An 8mm polycarbonate side window is also a new option for tasks such as mowing and hedge cutting, available through MF By You.

Operator visibility is enhanced by a new side wiper which sweeps 72% of the windscreen, improving vision close to the cab door.

New LED lighting is standard with four upgrade packages as options. These include a top package of 27 LED lights; 8 on the bonnet and 19 on the cab.

Seat options are from Grammer and Isri. The new Isri mid-range seat swivels and comes with automatic air suspension, ventilation, heating, lumbar supports, side bolsters and lateral damping, while the top-specification version adds lumbar massage, electrical adjustment and settings plus a three user-profile memory.

The highly effective heating and ventilation system includes multi-level air distribution through 14 vents. Category 4 filtration is a new option, providing operator protection for tasks such as spraying, and comes with automatic filter life monitoring.

Operators will appreciate generous in-cab storage plus up to three optional electrical power sockets. A factory-installed mobile phone holder is available for mounting on the armrest or terminal rail, and the large cab has plenty of space for an optional fridge. For extra convenience, remote controlled locking/unlocking and engine start/stop through a key fob is an additional new option.

New media options include larger diameter speakers for enhanced sound quality. A brand-new Electromechanical Sound Exciter is also uniquely offered for the MF 7S MARK 2, using the front windscreen as a powerful base speaker.

As demand for cameras increases for improved task monitoring and safety, new front and rear digital versions replace analogue units on the new tractors with a wide 122-degree angle of vision. Packages up to four cameras can be specified allowing additional units to be positioned on the tractor or mounted on trailers and other implements.

An optional Professional package includes an external toolbox, handy inspection lamp, an air supply outlet and air gun plus additional options through MF By You.
