Hesston by Massey Ferguson 2200 Series Large Square Balers
When Hesston introduced the first large square baler in 1978, it quickly became a preferred solution for cattle, dairy, and long-distance transport. That heritage continues with the 2200 Series, the most reliable, productive baler ever built.

The 2200 Series Large Square Balers are packed with advanced technologies to help your operation perform to its maximum potential. They include a ProCut™ Rotary Cutter option for a more precise cut with higher capacity and simplified serviceability.
A large square baler can only turn a profit when it’s performing at peak productivity. Fortunately, every aspect of the 2200 Series was designed to make or save you money.
When it comes to operation and repairs, the simpler the better. The 2200 Series balers utilize roller chain drives for the majority of the power transfer. Roller chains are cost effective and easy to replace when needed.
While the 2200 Series stays on the edge of technology, there is something to be said about its roots. At the heart of the baler is the Hesston designed double knotter that has been effectively unchanged since its introduction in 1978. It's durability is one of the reasons the 2200 Series large square baler is the most desired baler in the world.
Technology & Innovation
PICK UP AND GO
The 2200 Series' wide, low profile design delivers superior pickup, and with hydraulic pickup lift and gauge wheels, this baler can clear most obstacles.
DENSER BALES THROUGH PRE-COMPRESSION
To ensure dense and consistent bales, this simple, innovative design pre-forms each flake in a pre-compression chamber before moving it to the plunger.
The Datatronic 5 has a clear and concise 9" touch screen, which employs tablet and smartphone technology, enables operators to access and change settings quickly and instinctively.
HIGH-CAPACITY PROCUT™ OPTION
This Hesston-built rotor cutter upgrade delivers higher capacity and more efficient cutter baling.
The 2200 Series maximizes capacity by pulling crop from the pick-up with revolving packer forks and positively feeding it into the pre-compression chamber.
DOUBLE KNOTTED FOR BETTER BALES
Our double knotter system maintains that perfect bale after it leaves the chamber, through transport, and all the way to its destination.
With the separate pre-compression chamber and auto bale density control, there are no surprises or windrow size worries – just tight, dense bales.
All 2200 Series models feature on-board hydraulics for easier hook-up while eliminating the hydraulic system variables that can affect baler performance.
