Massey Ferguson® Showcases New Twin Rotor Center Tedder

The MF TDX TRC Series Offers One-Pass Tedding Even in Heavy Forage

BOONE, IA | AUG. 30, 2022 | AGCO Corporation(NYSE: AGCO), a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, introduces theMassey Ferguson® TDX Series tedder, delivering efficient, dependable operation with the straightforward design hay producers have come to expect. Innovative engineering pairs with tried-and-true design for even forage spread in a single pass. Massey Ferguson will showcase the TDX Series, available in three models with a working width up to 41 feet, at booth 1002 during the Farm Progress Show.

“In an industry that moves fast, efficiency and productivity are key to agricultural success,” said Matt LeCroy, Director, Marketing Hay and Harvesting North America, for Massey Ferguson. “Whether it’s a custom hay operation or a small dairy trying to put up enough hay for its herd, Massey Ferguson understands the need to maximize every minute in the field. The MF TDX Series allows hay producers to streamline their process with one operator, one tractor and one pass.”

Increased Tedding Efficiency in the Heaviest Forages

The MF TDX Series offers faster, more uniform dry down with heavy-duty hooked tines that spread crop more evenly than other tedders. The hooked tines incorporate six full windings per tine to make them tough, elastic and durable. Hay producers can confidently tackle even the heaviest forages, including rye, sorghum, sudan, winter wheat and heavy grass, in a single pass. This reduces labor and equipment costs as well as minimizes environmental impact, allowing producers to optimize efficiency, even in challenging conditions.

Industry-Leading Tedder Longevity

The hooked tines pair with Massey Ferguson’s field-tested design features for better overall operation and ROI. This includes a 1:2 transmission ratio for maximum performance at minimum PTO speeds. The series also employs a single-rotor powertrain with shaft and Walterschield joint forks for uninterrupted drivelines and steady, reliable power transmission. With no clearance between rotors, synchronization is guaranteed, as well as a long service life. A U-joint connection at each intersection with the hexagonal driveshaft transfers power smoothly through the machine. Unlike finger-type drives that wear over time and create “slop” between the rotor drives, this unique design provides a smooth-running, long-lasting rugged design that minimizes downtime and repair costs. A durable, round-tube frame with modular construction and induction-hardened, break-resistant rotor heads provide dependability and longevity in a wide range of fields and forage types.

User-Friendly Tedding Solution

With its combination of innovative features and farmer-focused design, the MF TDX Series continues Massey Ferguson’s commitment to straightforward, dependable equipment solutions for every operation. Like the company’s other tedder options, the series is simple to set and adjust for quick, efficient ground coverage. It features heavy-duty, fully sealed transmission cases lubricated with grease. This feature provides quiet operation and longer service intervals.

Hay producers can choose between three models to fit the needs of their unique operation: the 6-rotor TD 776 X DN, 8-rotor TD 1028 X TRC and the TD 1310 X TRC with 10 rotors.

One-Pass Tedding

“For 175 years, Massey Ferguson has been delivering the straightforward, dependable tools farmers need to get the job done,” LeCroy said. “Today’s hay producers have to do more with less – less time, less manpower, less inputs. Through Massey Ferguson and our Hesston by Massey Ferguson brand, we are working to provide the high-productivity, farmer-focused solutions modern ag demands.” Learn more about the MF TDX Series and other Massey Ferguson hay tools by visiting www.masseyferguson.com or stop by the booth at Farm Progress August 30 through September 1.
