Harry Ferguson patents his revolutionary 3-point implement hitch system, the Ferguson System. With the Ferguson System, implements no longer needed axles or wheels. Ferguson developed a family of lighter, simpler implements to match the performance capacity of the tractor.

The Massey-Harris “General Purpose” tractor is one of the first to feature four-wheel drive. This innovation gave farmers more control in difficult field conditions.

The MF 3000 Series offers revolutionary electronic design. Marketed as “thinking tractors,” the MF 3000 Series featured an Autotronic electronic “brain” capable of automating 16 different functions including diff-lock, headland turning and 4WD engagement. This was also the first model to feature the Datatronic in-cab computer, now in its fifth generation.

The MF 7400 tractor series is the first Massey Ferguson model to feature Dyna-VT transmission. This continuously variable transmission allows for higher power output at lower rpms for increased fuel efficiency.

The MF 8690 model is the world’s first tractor equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. Unlike an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, the SCR system is maintenance free, leaving one less input for farmers to worry about. The MF 8690 model was the most powerful and technically advanced conventional 4WD tractor on the market.

The Massey Ferguson 8S Series tractor ushers in a new era of farmer-focused design. Built from the ground up with input from farmers across the globe, the MF 8S Series introduced the Protect-U design. A 9.4-inch gap between the engine and cab significantly reduces noise and vibration for a more comfortable operator experience. The MF 8S Series also offers a number of high-tech, ergonomic features to minimize fatigue through the workday.
