Engine
Low rated engine speed for durability, economy and operator comfort. Good power to weight ratio for greater productivity. Easy access encourages regular servicing and maintenance avoiding breakdowns. Parts readily available which encourages regular parts replacement and servicing to prolong engine life.
Transmission
Straightforward fully mechanical drive line with heavy duty clutch for reliability and longevity. Simple and reliable clutch. High maximum speed to reduce transport time. Easy to operate due to simple layout.
Hydraulics
Oil immersed yoke pump for rear linkage. Auxiliary spool valves on MF 275 Xtra & 290 Xtra increase the number of implements the machine can be used with.
Rear linkage
Fully adjustable link rods with float position allows some travel on the implement during operation. Heavy duty swinging drawbar to cope with all conditions.

- 8F x 2R sliding mesh centre transmission. Four gears fall within the typical field working range.
- 540 rpm PTO with 35mm / 6 spline output shaft and live clutch.
