‘Inspiration for this generation; taking the next step’ was the motivational theme of Macra na Feirme’s Annual Conference in Cork, Ireland. Massey Ferguson was among the key supporters of the event which took place at the Rochestown Park Hotel at the end of October.
Macra na Feirme represents Ireland’s young farmers and rural youth. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Seán Finan, Macra National President said: “This is a great time to be a young farmer entering the industry or if you are established and trying to grow and drive forward your business. Huge opportunities exist and the future is bright for young, trained, energetic, technically-proficient young farmers.”
Guests at the conference included EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Phil Hogan and President of the Council for European Young Farmers (CEJA), Alan Jagoe - himself from County Cork.
“We were delighted to give our support to Macra,” says Lindsay Haddon, Massey Ferguson Advertising and Sales Promotion Manager. “The organisation does great work on behalf of the new generation of farmers and promoting the positive opportunities that exist in Irish agriculture today.”
