Staff, Dealers and customers join forces for pedal-power trip to Massey Ferguson Beauvais tractor plant

The sixty cyclists in the ‘MF Tour de Beauvais 2015’ made an impressive sight as they left Brørup in Southern Denmark en masse on 27 June. Massey Ferguson is supporting this 1226 km cycle tour to its tractor plant in Beauvais, France.

Travelling between 100 and 220 km per day at an average speed of 28 km/h, the tour is expected to arrive in Beauvais on 3 July.

“The cyclists include staff from Massey Ferguson, our Dealers and associates together with a number of customers,” says Christian Devantier, Director Distribution Management Nordics and Baltic, AGCO Danmark A/S and chief organiser of the event. “Our training started in March and all the cyclists have completed at least 2500 km, including single sessions of 220 km.”

From Denmark, the riders will pass through the Netherlands and Belgium, and enter France at Hestrud. Among the many challenges of the journey will be a 128 m climb of the Mur de Huy in the Ardennes. The Massey Ferguson riders are scheduled to tackle this steep, spectacular part of the route on 1 July, just a few days before it serves as the finish for Stage 3 of the 2015 Tour de France.

In Denmark, Massey Ferguson is based at parent company AGCO’s offices in Hvidovre, near Copenhagen.
“We are very excited to follow our Danish friends and colleagues as the tour makes its way south to us here in Beauvais,” says Campbell Scott, Massey Ferguson Director Marketing Services. “Fully-kitted out in Massey Ferguson colours, the team will provide a great advert for our brand along the 1226 km route. This is a wonderful team event, embodying the spirit of the Massey Ferguson farm machinery brand to take on a challenge and win!”

Together with Massey Ferguson, other key supporters of the MF Tour de Beauvais 2015 include Maskinbladet, Proservice, GreneKramp, Nilfisk ALTO, NDI, FTZ, Mercedes Benz and Trek bicycles.
