Foodie festival heaven for curd nerds and cider lovers

Curd nerds and cider lovers returned to the West Country last month for one of the UK’s cheesiest annual food and music festivals.

No, we’re not talking about Glastonbury but the Somerset Cheese, Cider & Moozic Fest’ which remains the perfect summer festival season warm up.

Massey Ferguson again partnered up with the Fest’ and Red Tractor to help almost 2000 people enjoy a whole weekend of events, entertainment and culture in Nether Stowey Village.

Arriving at Cricketer Farm, Fest’ goers were immediately transported into country life thanks to our Massey Ferguson tractor & trailer rides, with the support of Red Tractor Assurance.

As a Red Tractor member, Cricketer Farm Cheddar founded the Fest’ 4 years ago to promote this lovely part of the world and Somerset’s finest artisan cheese and cider producers, and this year saw visitors munch and slurp their way through more than 50 varieties.

The new Cheeky Cow Cheese stage ensured Fest’ goers enjoyed over 21 UK and international bands & musicians across the 3 days, with all resulting profits from the Fest’ being donated to local charities.

As you’d expect, the Fest’ is very close to Massey Ferguson’s heart, according to Lindsay Haddon.

“We’re hugely proud to support a fledgling event that focusses on the fruits of the region’s farming and agricultural labour. Last year Big Weekender’s had an amazing Massey Ferguson experience, taking a trailer ride to the West Somerset Steam Railway and this year the rides ensured all visitors had a great chance to enjoy Nether Stowey village and the surrounding area.”

Fest’ founder and Cricketer Farm MD Greg Parsons was hugely appreciative of Massey Ferguson’s support, as well as that from Red Tractor Assurance too.

“Many festival’s these days are commercial entities but we are totally focussed on raising the profile of our producers while at the same time raising money for local charities. Massey Ferguson and Red Tractor are hugely valuable supporters and help create the most unique music and food festival going. Without their help we would not be able to improve and grow each year so it’s a huge hats off to them that they continue to support our event, now in its fourth year.”

You can see Greg and the Fest’ team at Chris Evans’ Carfest South this August with initial dates for the 2016 Fest’ being 17-19th June 2016. Otherwise, keep up to date with the Fest’ via their Facebook and Twitter and by visiting: www.somersetcheesecidermoozicfest.co.uk.
