Stars Shine for Hamilton Ross Group Apprentices!

The HAMILTON ROSS GROUP are delighted to announce that several of their Apprentices have been recognised for achievements in Agricultural Engineering.

Leading Massey Ferguson Dealership Hamilton Ross Group, comprised of dealers Hamilton Brothers, Ross of Lanark and Reekie Ltd, are celebrating the success of several Apprentice Engineers who have sparkled at their 2016-2017 college and professional prize giving’s.

A fruitful awards season closed with a bang on Thursday 2nd March when Hamilton Brothers Landbased Engineering Apprentice, Stephen Moore (24) was awarded the prestigious Landbased Engineering Learner of the Year prize at the LANTRA Learner of the Year 2017 awards.

“I am delighted to have received such a fantastic award,” says Stephen. “I started work at Hamilton Brothers as a valeter and, after expressing an interest in engineering, management arranged for me to attend college. If it wasn’t for that opportunity then I would not be where I am today.” This was the second award of the day for Stephen, who was presented with an Apprentice of the Year (Scotland) trophy by farm machinery website, Agri Machinery News in the morning alongside three of his Hamilton Ross Group colleagues, Andrew Falls and Graeme Ramsay of Hamilton Brothers and Michael Rolfe of Ross of Lanark. All four apprentices were also recognised for their achievements at the Oatridge and Barony College Prize Giving’s last year.

“We are very proud of all our Hamilton Ross Group apprentices,” says Hamilton Brothers General Manager, Jim Steel, who was once a Hamilton Ross Group Apprentice himself! “The Group have worked closely with LANTRA and SRUC over the years to develop an excellent training programme and we would encourage anyone who is interested in apprenticeships to get in touch.”

The Hamilton Ross Group currently has 12 apprentices working across the Central Belt of Scotland at six depots in Bishopton, Tarbolton, Campbeltown, Lanark, Cupar and Perth. With over 80 years experience in the industry, the company takes great pride in its apprentice programme and looks forward to watching these award winning apprentices develop their craft.
