Inspiration for a farming future

“Success in farming means always striving to be better - never settle for second best,” said Massey Ferguson’s Campbell Scott, Director Marketing Services Europe/Africa/Middle East speaking on Ambition in Agriculture at the Scottish Association of Young Famers Club (SAYFC) Agri and Rural Affairs Conference 2015.

Massey Ferguson was a principal supporter of the ‘Cultivating Futures’ event held in Dundee 20-22 November which focused on opportunities for young people and providing inspiration for SAYFC members with their plans and careers.

A packed programme saw over 100 members enjoy farm visits, a range of presentations from food and farm industry experts, interactive workshops and breakout sessions. This is only the second time the event has been staged and it offered a great opportunity for members to learn direct from the industry, have a voice among their peers, and network with people offering range of experiences and skills.

Campbell Scott, who hails from Bridge of Urr in Southern Scotland, shared Massey Ferguson’s vision and aspirations for farming and farm machinery manufacturing, and talked about the vital role that marketing plays in business. “MF wants to work with ambitious, pro-active farmers,” he said. “Marketing is key to adding value to your business. Having a well-planned marketing strategy and creating a strong brand is essential to growth – it’s about looking after your customers, maintaining a reputation and exceeding expectations,” he said.
