Massey Ferguson reports that the 67,000th combine harvester to be produced at AGCO’s Breganze Manufacturing Facility in Italy – an MF Beta 7370 - has arrived at its destination in Sweden.

Massey Ferguson combines have been in production at the Breganze plant since 2004. In June 2007, this partnership was further strengthened when Massey Ferguson’s parent company AGCO acquired a 50% stake in Breganze-based Laverda S.p.A from the Italian Argo Group. AGCO fully acquired the plant in 2010 bringing over 50 years of combine manufacturing experience in Italy into the AGCO family.

The 25ha Breganze site in northern Italy is AGCO’s Harvesting Centre of Excellence and produces a full range of MF combine harvesters suitable for small farmers through to the high-capacity models required by large-scale agribusiness customers. Along with the BETA combine, these include the MF ACTIVA, MF ACTIVA S, MF CENTORA and MF DELTA.

Proud new owners of this production milestone model are father and daughter, Lars and Kristin Danielsson of the 325 ha Sörby Farm, located just south of Norrköping in Eastern Sweden. Alongside the farm, they also operate a 100 ha contract harvesting business.

The Danielsson’s MF Beta 7370, equipped with a 6.8m PowerFlow table, is the newest addition to their fleet of Massey Ferguson machinery which also includes four MF tractors - an MF 7626, MF 6499, MF 8220 and an MF 5480. Arriving at the farm during the first week of August, the combine was put to work immediately to harvest winter rape and winter wheat. All of the crop will go into the farm’s new 2000 tonne grain store.

“The combine has been running very well and we are very satisfied with our investment,” Kristin remarks.

The harvest so far is of good quality despite a large tornado passing over the farm in July which took out some large trees and caused subsequent damage.

“Massey Ferguson has been on the farm since 1995,” explains Lars who is full of praise for the back-up and service he gets from local Massey Ferguson Dealer, Mariehofs Maskin, a branch of GH Traktorcity in Mantorp.

Sörby Farm has been owned by the Danielsson family for four generations. It operated for many years without livestock but now, because of Kristin’s keen interest in animals, they have started to build up a herd of sheep and currently have 55 ewes.

“We complement each other very well and it is fun to work side by side,” adds Lars.
