Massey Ferguson has strengthened its dealership network with new franchises in the important fruit growing regions. These significant appointments provide growers with sales and service for the company’s extensive range of tractors and equipment.
New recruit for Kent and East Sussex, Agwood Ltd, will be exhibiting at National Fruit Show, while Ross Farm Machinery is looking after growers in Hereford and Worcester.
Massey Ferguson’s range of tractors includes models developed exclusively for fruit, vineyard and special applications. The latest MF 3400 Series, for example, offers four models powered by high torque Perkins engines with powers from 64hp to 98hp. These are designed specifically with a ‘smooth’ profile to reduce damage to high value crops. Also a unique ‘Tripleshift’ transmission option uses buttons to change three powershift steps in every gear, without using the clutch.
A new feature is PowerShuttle, which allows operators to make direction changes with the flick of a lever on the left-hand side, without having to dip the clutch - particularly helpful for loading and box handling duties. Moreover, it also employs an oil-immersed main drive clutch, which improves durability compared with a traditional dry-plate unit.
All the MF 3400 tractors can also be covered by the MF ‘manager’ customer support package. This tailor-made plan fixes the cost of routine maintenance and repair costs, allowing users to precisely budget the cost/hr over a period of up to five years.
