Somerset dairy farmer is MF AgTV winner

Simon Bendall is the lucky winner of an MF 400 Auto AgTV worth over £4500 in a competition run jointly by Massey Ferguson, the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers and HSBC Bank at the 2006 Dairy Event.

Simon of Manor Farm, Corston near Bath was presented with his prize by Martin Mills, MF Area Sales Manager, Nick Everington Chief Executive of the RABDF and Philip Dolbear Agricultural Banking Manager for HSBC at local Massey Ferguson dealer, Highwood.

“When I found out that I’d won, I was astounded – I never win anything!” Simon comments. “It’s a wonderful prize. We’ve got an extremely old quad bike currently doing duty on the farm and so the MF 400 has come at a good time. In fact my visit to the Dairy Event certainly proved to be first time lucky.  I really went there to find out more information about diversification opportunities in the MilkMade exhibition area, however I also found the event to be more beneficial than other specialist dairy shows with regards to machinery exhibits because the manufacturers were on hand, as well as the dealers”

Philip Dolbear, HSBC Agricultural Banking Manager in the South West said, “As principal sponsor of the Dairy Event, the competition generated a great deal of interest on our stand and we are pleased with the number of entries.  Congratulations to Simon – I am sure he will be able to make great use of the bike on the farm.”

A mixed enterprise of 900 acres, Manor Farm is home to a 150-head dairy herd and 150 followers. “My stockman will be  the AgTV’S main user,” explains Simon. “We’ll also be using it for slug pellet application and for cleaning out dirty water from the irrigation system.”

MF AgTVs are specifically developed for agricultural and commercial use. Key features include start-in-gear facility, adaptable Multi Rack Platform for easy transport of tools and materials plus a full range of accessories.
