Massey Ferguson moves into the SIMA, Paris show full of vigour and confidence after making significant gains in all its main markets. Huge investments are paying dividends for customers with an enormous array of new and updated machinery on display.
“Massey Ferguson is moving forward at a rapid pace. Innovative new products – in every sector – are helping Massey Ferguson to grow our business in every sector and country in which we work,” says Declan Hayden, Vice President Marketing for Massey Ferguson EAME. “This success is also being acknowledged by experts and industry commentators with no other manufacturer in Europe winning as many awards as MF in the recent years.”
The company has renewed its entire tractor range from the smallest compacts right through to the largest 300hp+ flagship models, ensuring each and every model is designed perfectly to fit the task. Massey Ferguson doesn’t adapt ranges to suit; it develops complete series to exactly fit the needs of specific users.
“Every product, from the class-leading high hp MF 8400s through to the specialist and compact tractors, all receive the same high levels of engineering expertise and investment. This means every user, from smallholders to the largest agribusinesses, all benefit from Massey Ferguson’s outstanding advanced engineering, design and controls,” says Mr Hayden.
At SIMA visitors will see that each and every Massey Ferguson machine on display features class-leading specifications and innovative designs in every area.
“For the past two years we have led the market with the quietest most comfortable cabs. This is not just on the high power tractor, but all operators of the Beauvais-built ranges benefit from this superb comfort,” adds Mr Hayden.
When Massey Ferguson updates engines to meet new emission legislation it also grasps the opportunity to further improve performance with higher power, more extra power and boost for transport and PTO work. Users gain more features and higher productivity.
Similarly Massey Ferguson is an acknowledged world leader in transmission design, but again it doesn’t concentrate its efforts solely on top end. Dyna-4, for example, brings all the same effortless shifting ability and straightforward control of the highly regarded Dyna-6 to users of lower hp tractors. On top of Dyna-6’s clutchless gear shifting and automatic field and road changing, the ECO unit is now available across the whole MF 6400 Series, further improving economy with its high speeds achieved a low engine revs.
Massey Ferguson started the agricultural electronics revolution and continues to lead from the front with the unsurpassed control and monitoring from the Datatronic 3 and Console 1 unit. Along with this is the firm’s advanced, but easy to use, software suite.
“Users appreciate these advanced can really pay for themselves very quickly in terms of improved output. This is why Massey Ferguson is now moving forward in every market. Indeed, demand is rising rapidly and during the last three years our Beauvais factory has now produced more than 50,000 tractors in these new advanced ranges,” adds Mr Hayden.
At the same time unrelenting investment in harvesting equipment has brought enormous changes in the past two years. Sales of Cerea combines have risen sharply since restructuring of the Randers, Denmark factory where production is being increased to meet the higher demand.
Sales of Massey Ferguson Activa and Beta combines are also increasing, with the machine proving popular with users wishing to secure crop yield and quality by owning their own machine, but without the cost of larger, often more complex, combines.
Massey Ferguson’s harvesting revolution continues to move forward at an unrelenting pace with SIMA seeing the display of a new high capacity rotary combine for evaluation, as well as a completely new range of large square balers, again featuring the latest technology to boost performance, durability and improve cost-effective operation.
The MF 100 Series set the big baler technology benchmark and with the MF 2100 Series, Massey Ferguson significantly raises the bar still higher.
“Indeed, these new balers epitomise Massey Ferguson’s thorough understanding of every sector in which we operate. Massey Ferguson led the way with big balers, fully understands the market and is now introducing machines that provide up to a third more output. This will help improve our customer’s efficiency, lowering the cost/bale and further boosting cost-effective operation,” adds Mr Hayden.
Massey Ferguson is AGCO’s largest and most widely sold range of equipment, renowned around the world and contributing to more than half of the parent company’s $5.4 billion turnover.
“There is no doubt that Massey Ferguson and our customers are really benefiting from the enormous investments that AGCO is making in the brand. AGCO is always growing, and with Massey Ferguson moving forward in all markets, we are set to grow faster than ever before,” says Mr Hayden.
