Massey Ferguson’s unrivalled choice below 100hp.  Choice of nine different ranges and 30 different multi-application tractors

Massey Ferguson offers an unprecedented choice of more than 30 different multi-application tractors in nine separation ranges with powers of less than 100hp. This outstanding selection ensures every customer can choose a model to precisely fit their specific needs.

At the SIMA, Paris show Massey Ferguson will be displaying its strongest ever line-up in the sub 100hp category. Every tractor provides the exact power, transmission and specification to specifically match the requirements of every user – from hobby farmers and smallholders through to specialist fruit, orchard and vineyard operators as well as for more traditional livestock or arable farmers.

“Massey Ferguson understands that specific jobs require a specialist tractor that perfectly matches each user’s particular requirements,” says David Chinn, Massey Ferguson’s General Marketing Manager for Low to Medium hp and Specialist Tractors. “But we also appreciate that as well as excelling in a particular operation, it will also need the flexibility to perform in a wide range of other tasks.”

Unlike other manufacturers, Massey Ferguson doesn’t adapt existing ranges to fit specialist needs. Instead, it has developed an extensive range that offers a wide selection to ensure there is not just one model, but a whole range of tractors for each specific sector.

Furthermore, with such a broad choice, customers can not only select the perfect engine and power for the job, but also match the transmission, hydraulic system and PTO requirements to the particular primary task.

But for some users of this tractor power there is a need for a truly multi-purpose machine, which is as happy working in around buildings, loading or out in the fields cultivating and harvesting as well as on the road for transport. In this sector, with powers from 58-91hp the new MF 3600 range offers unrivalled specifications and peformance.

Completely new MF 3600 multi-application models from 58–91hp

The all new MF 3600 tractors are real all-rounders - true agricultural and municipal general purpose tractors. With powers up to 91hp they are compact and manoeuvrable, perfect for a wide range of applications and ideal for front-end loader work.

While straightforward to operate and maintain, they can also be operated to a high level with plenty of options to tailor the machines to suit specific requirements. The latest SisuDiesel 33DT and DTA fuel efficient engines offer high performance and quiet operation.

A proven transmission offers 12/12 speeds for 2WD and 24/24 with options for 4WD models. The 40 km/hr 24/24 unit can be specified with Power Shuttle or Speedshift, both of which also come with electro-hydraulic differential locking.

Massey Ferguson’s MF 3400 Vineyard, Special and Fruit Series
Power Shuttle transmission 64–98hp

Massey Ferguson will also be showing the latest development for its Vineyard, Specialist and Fruit tractors, with the MF 3400 Power Shuttle transmission making its SIMA debut.

This significant addition allows operators to change direction with the simple flick of a lever on the left-hand side of the steering wheel, without using the clutch. An additional bonus is that on-the-move gearshifts can be made by simply pressing a button on the gearlever, again without having to use the foot clutch.

This feature will particularly find a home with users who manoeuvre their tractors in confined spaces.

Cab comfort and more power for the MF 400

At the SIMA, Paris show, Massey Ferguson builds on the success of its entry-level MF 400 Series with the introduction of a new 74hp model, cab options for all models plus a fresh new modern look.

The 74hp model is being introduced in response to customer demand for more power, particularly for PTO fieldwork such as baling, mowing and power-harrowing, as well as straw chopping in livestock housing. It is available with two- or four-wheel drive and built to the same exacting standards as the current 55hp MF 410 (2WD) and 66hp MF 420 (2WD or 4WD) tractors, offering the same rock-solid reliability and ease of use.

A Perkins 1103DT engine powers the MF 420. This is the same base unit  that is used in the MF 420, but with extensive changes to the radiators to provide the necessary cooling to handle the extra power.

All MF 400 Series models are now available with a new factory-fitted cab. The extra comfort and protection offered by the modern, stylish cab will further extend the tractors’ usefulness for all seasons and even more applications.

Despite the cab’s spacious internal dimensions and modern styling the tractor still retains its compact dimensions. Wide, rear opening all-glass doors provide easy access along with great visibility.

Working lights are mounted to the roof front and rear, along with a warning beacon. Switches for these, the wipers and ventilation and the fuse box are positioned in the roof console, just above the operator’s head.

Powershuttle and Powershift for MF 1500 Series compacts

The new Dyna-QPS transmission option for Massey Ferguson 1500 Series compact tractors features both Power Shuttle and Powershift functions within a 12 forward/12 reverse speed mechanical gearbox.

It is available on three models: The MF 1533 (32hp), MF 1540 (38hp) and MF1547 (46hp), fitted with either a cab or ROPS (roll-over protection structure).

The Dyna-QPS features an electro-hydraulically operated Power Shuttle enabling users to change direction, without using the foot clutch, by simply flicking a lever, mounted to the left of the steering column.

This ease of use is further enhanced with the powershift transmission, which provides electro-hydraulic, on-the-move shifting between the four speeds within each of the gearbox’s three ranges. Speed changes are actuated by a pair of switches mounted on the side of the mechanical range change lever.

All MF 1500 Series compact tractors specified with Dyna QPS are fitted with an enhanced analogue/digital instrument panel. This unit incorporates an LCD screen displaying the shuttle lever position, the selected Power Shift ratio, the selected range ratio and other driving information.

Other transmission choices for the MF 1500 include a 12/12 mechanical or three-range hydrostatic transmission (12/12 mechanical or Dyna-QPS only on the MF 1533).

The full MF 1500 Series range features seven models from 19hp to 46hp, available in cab or platform versions. All are powered by three cylinder engines, apart from the largest model, which is a four-cylinder. The lightweight and versatile range is ideally suited to a wide range of work and comes with a wide choice of hydraulic and PTO specifications.

Massey Ferguson’s newly introduced mid-mounted Field Fold ROPS also adds a new agricultural focus to MF’s range of high specification MF 1500 Compact Tractors.  This will find its home when working under overhanging boughs or inside polytunnels.

Cab comfort for the MF 2400 Ag-Compact tractors 33-47hp

A new cab is now available for all three models in the MF 2400 Series from 33hp to 47hp, with the option of air conditioning on the two larger models.

The MF 2400 Series agricultural compact tractors are now well established as rugged and reliable workhorses that provide dependable, easy-to-use operation in a compact package. The addition of the factory fitted cab option will further extend versatility, particularly for users that require higher operator protection and comfort.

The spacious, four-post cab is fully noise compliant and offers superb access and visibility to the side from wide-opening, one-piece glass doors.  The cab also has opening front and rear screens. Despite its spacious internal size the cab does not impair the tractor’s compact dimensions, allowing it to retain its superb manoeuvrability.

Equipped to a high standard the cab features a roof-mounted heater/blower with carbon filters. Work lights are mounted in the front and rear along with a warning beacon. Controls are clustered, tidily, in the roof console, which includes all the switches for the lights, windscreen wiper, wash/wipe beacon and clock. The controls and vents for the heater and ventilation are also in the same position along with the air conditioning (where fitted) and the fuse box.
