Silage Baling

Hesston Series silage round balers are a good choice for high moisture hay conditions.  The Model 2746 can be ordered from the factory silage ready or a silage kit can be field installed for all three models. The silage option adds the following features:

1. Scrapers are added in the tailgate to reduce crop build-up on the belts.
2. A shear knife is added to the starter roll.
3. Three idler rollers in the baler tailgate are replaced with crowned rollers to improve belt tracking.
4. A spiral tailgate roller is added for belt tracking and to prevent wrapping.
