MF 8690 proves fuel frugal

Published date 17/11/2009

In a fuel consumption test carried out by leading farm machinery magazine Profi, an MF 8690 equipped with SCR engine performed with outstanding results.

MF 8690 proves fuel frugal

According to the report, in tough ploughing tests, the MF 8690 was 3.3 litre/ha more economical and saved 2.8 litres when baling. Over a 1000 hour working period, the MF 8690 would consume 2000 litres less diesel overall than the thirstiest tractor in the magazine’s previous ‘Powermix’ tests. Even comparing the values recorded by the MF 8690 with the average for ALL tractors, it still saves one litre of fuel per hour – an improvement of 16.6%!

Profi awarded the MF 8690 an ‘unreserved commendation’ for its low diesel consumption.

Note: The costs of the AdBlue® aqueous urea solution necessary for exhaust gas purification on the SCR engine also need to be added in to the equation.(Approximately 1 euro per litre). Even with AdBlue® included, the values for the MF 8690 overall are still at the lower end of previous ranges tested by the magazine.
