High torque and power from advanced AGCO SISU POWER engines

All the MF 3600 GE Series tractors are powered by the latest, most advanced, AGCO SISU POWER 3.3 litre, three cylinder engines – the first in the sector to meet the strict Tier 3 exhaust emission regulations. The exhaust pipe is now under slung on the left-hand side.

Peak performance is ensured by the engine’s outstanding power and torque characteristics. The superior design develops maximum torque at 1,400rpm, which enables the tractors to pull through tough conditions with fewer gear changes, for optimum output and enhanced fuel efficiency.

Simply superb manoeuvrability

The compact three-cylinder AGCO SISU POWER engines - 28mm shorter than the four-cylinders used previously – provide extra room and flexibility for the front axle support. This, combined with a fully-waisted profile, allows unimpeded movement for the front wheels, producing excellent turning without compromising stability or having to resort to a separate, more complex system.
By using a simple, intelligent design the new MF 3600 GE Series provide very tight turns but with low wear and maintenance requirements along with exceptional reliability. There is also no loss of stability or exaggerated front and rear implement swing when operating with SuperTurn.

All the axles are equipped with a limited slip differential to aid traction in poor conditions and when operating on sloping ground.

Compact dimensions with extra comfort

MF 3600 GE tractors are designed specifically for working in tight spaces, with Massey Ferguson having worked hard to reduce the operating height to the absolute minimum. New fender positions mean these are now just 605mm above the centre of rear axle (125mm lower than standard models) and even the steering wheel has been repositioned so it is 30mm lower down.

This all combines to ensure the GE models provide extraordinary access, allowing the tractors to operate under canopies while maintaining crop quality.

The GE models are available in either footstep or cab versions that come in a range of widths to suit all specific requirements. The external fender width on GE models is contained to 1.0m on cab models and 1.07 on footstep versions. Even when specified with a cab the maximum height is only 2.26m. The new RC100 cab offers a 1.0m external width and is ingeniously designed to make the best use of the available space.

Versatile transmission choice

Whatever the application the MF 3600 GE offers a transmission to suit the task. Transmission choice for tractors without a cab begins with a 12/12 gearbox, offering a top speed of 30km/hr as standard. Alternatively a 40km/hr, 24x24 Speedshift, which doubles the speeds in each gear, is an option.

Tractors equipped with cabs also have the option of a 40km/hr Syncho Shuttle, which provides 24F/24R speeds and a separate synchronised shuttle lever for direction changes. This same arrangement is also available with Speedshift, which employs a button on the gearlever to shift each gear into high and low.

For maximum efficiency is the 40km/hr, 24F/24F PowerShuttle. With this transmission direction changes are made, without the clutch, simply with a flick of a short lever on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

Exclusive Independent PTO offers plenty of options

An exclusive, MF-designed independent PTO, which is operated by an electro-hydraulically engaged, oil-immersed clutch is standard on all MF 3600 GE models.

The system comes with an unrivalled choice of selectable speeds to suit all types of tasks and implements, including: 540rpm, 540/540E (750), 540/1,000rpm.

High flow hydraulics

The new MF 3600 GE tractors have an open centre hydraulic system that is powered by two independent hydraulic circuits to ensure constant, smooth operation of the spool valves and linkage.

The 2,500kg capacity, three-point linkage has cranked lower link arms fitted with either CAT II or adjustable CT I/II ball ends and with straightforward mechanical control. The MF 3600 GE can be specified with up to three hydraulic pumps, which enable high oil flows of up to 62 litres/min, to be distributed through one or two separate circuits.

Up to five spool valves can be specified, including three at the rear and two that are joystick operated and mid-mounted. This makes them ideal hosts for loaders and a multitude of mid- or front-mounted implements.

MF 3600 GE models further strengthen the range

The four new tractors in the MF 3600 GE Series further enhance the MF 3600 Series. These new tractors join the standard models as well as those in the V, F and S Series – all designed and built to meet specific specialist requirements.

Even higher specification for MF 6400 Series flagships

Massey Ferguson’s new MF 6400 flagship models – the MF 6497 and MF 6499 - now offer even higher productivity to users of these powerful and highly versatile tractors.

Along with a new, modern family style and pivoting bonnet, the tractors also benefit from a new heavy-duty front axle. This is fitted to an innovative support, which also incorporates the weight frame or integrated front linkage option.

New features on these new models, which went into production in September, include:

  • Latest technology AGCO SISU POWER common rail engines with four valves/cylinder
  • Rugged front axle support with new integral linkage design
  • QuadLink front suspension option
  • ‘Power boost’ for PTO and transport
  • Pivoting bonnet improves engine and cooling system access
  • Dyna-6, 40 or 50km/hr Eco transmission
  • Transport speed* of 40km/hr or 50km/hr achieved at a low 1,900 engine rpm (*top speed depends on market/legislation)

The four-model MF 2100 Series produce a range of bale sizes in straw, hay, silage and haylage. The new flagship, MF 2190, which replaces the renowned MF 190, is proven to produce a consistent bale weight increase of between 10-20% and operate at 20% faster forward speeds.

The four-model range is new from the ground up, combining tried and tested features with new developments to increase baling capacity and further improve reliability. All models now feature sealed, heavy-duty bearings throughout the driveline for high durability.

Xtra technology for MF 8900 Xtra telescopic handlers

Visitors to EIMA will also be among the first to see Massey Ferguson’s new MF 8900 Xtra telescopic handlers. This range now features a new Electronic Speed Control (SCS) system for the hydrostatic transmission, which allows the forward speed to be altered regardless of engine speed.

This unique system, engaged simply with a rocker switch and dial, provides superb control and improves cycle times. It is standard on the MF 8925, MF 8927 and MF 8947 Xtra handlers. In short SCS allows the operator to employ high engine speeds for maximum hydraulic performance, but still manoeuvre safely at suitable forward speeds.

Cab comfort is further improved with the addition of a special resonator in the hydraulic steering circuit, which reduces noise significantly. New hydraulic hose routing for the crowd and tilt circuit and auxiliary service couplers cut wear and improve reliability.

Powered by a new Tier 3 Perkins engine, with improved cooling capacity, the MF 8900 Series Xtra telehandlers have an open-centre, load sensing hydraulic system that allows all actions to be combined, regardless of load. All actions are operated proportionally.
