The award relies solely on nominations from an independent jury made up of journalists from over 20 of Europe’s leading farming magazines. “We have a great respect for this competition and were delighted to receive a Finalist Award,” said Thierry Lhotte, who has recently been appointed Vice President Sales and Marketing for Massey Ferguson EAME.

“We are also honoured that the MF 7499 was nominated by the journalists who recognise the enormous achievements Massey Ferguson has  made in providing the precise technology that modern professional farmers require.”

The jury was impressed with the features that the MF 7499 offers operators. With its superb power to weight ratio and high specification the tractor excels in all areas. The AGCO Sisu Power engine combines excellent economy with high power and torque, which are delivered through the Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission. This is equipped with Dynamic Tractor Management (DTM), which links the engine and transmission to ensure they are always working at optimum efficiency.

The special chassis design, with its Integrated Front Linkage System provides excellent weight distribution while boosting capacity and efficiency with the use of front mounted equipment. The tractor’s cab, which is one of the quietest workplaces on the market, combines superb comfort with effortless control from many automated features as well as  ISObus implement control from the tractor terminal.

“All of the Massey Ferguson team are delighted that the Tractor the Year Jury has recognised how the MF 7499 brings the benefits of power and precision to modern, productive farmers,” adds Campbell Scott, Massey Ferguson Brand Development Manager. “We are excited by the response this tractor has received and proud of our Finalist Award. And we would like to thank the jury for their hard work and commitment to this very worthwhile competition.”
