Triplet Teenagers Get Surprise Birthday Tractor Delivery
Published date August 13, 2010
Yorkshire farmer, Kevin Burgess has just taken delivery of a brand-new MF 5480 tractor.
Kevin, father to 16-year-old triplet sons, Matthew, Robert and Edward, surprised the boys with the delivery of the new tractor on their birthday on 11 August.
“The boys are all highly-focused on agriculture as a career and very much interested in the machinery side of things,” explains Kevin. “They have been asking if we could have another tractor for some time so I kept the new model a secret until their birthday. I also booked them in to take their tractor driving tests on the same day which they all passed!”
“When they were born, I hoped that at least one of them would want to go into farming, so I’m really pleased that all three see it as part of their future, ” he adds.
The new 145 max hp MF 5480 is the latest addition to the Massey Ferguson fleet at Park Farm in South Anston, near Sheffield. The majority of the MF kit has been bought in the last 12 months and also includes three other MF tractors – two MF 6497s and an MF 6499, an MF 7260 BETA combine and an MF 187 big square baler.
Farming 400 acres (166 ha), Kevin also runs a major recycling business which, among a range of activities, involves the production of licensed compost from green waste and aggregates from building rubble.
The new MF tractor was handed over to the Burgess family by Michael Peacock, Chairman and Alan Burrell, Area Sales Manager – both of Peacock & Binnington, and Robin McArd, Area Sales Manager for Massey Ferguson.
Peacock and Binnington is one of Massey Ferguson’s largest dealers in the UK and operates branches in Brigg, Selby, Corringham and Louth.
