Tractor pullers roar into factory visit

Published date July 15, 2009

AGCO’s Beauvais plant in France resounded to the power of a 1600hp Massey Ferguson tractor puller when two Dutch tractor-pulling teams paid a visit to the factory as a lead-up to the Eurocup event in Bernay.

The teams – Red Attraction and Bad Boys Toy both of which compete in the pro-stock class – were invited by Dutch dealer Mechatrac to tour the plant.

Red Attraction parked their machine outside the site’s Technology Centre and started up the engine amidst much smoke and thunderous noise. The tractor is based on an MF 1144 with sheet metal from an MF 6499. Equipped with a modified Perkins V8 engine, it develops an amazing 1600hp! Bad Boys Toy is based on an MF 1150 and also has a Perkins V8 engine.

The Beauvais visit certainly made the teams’ journey to France worthwhile as unfortunately, the Bernay event had to be cancelled at the last minute due to thunderstorms.
