New Massey Ferguson 2600 Series tractors – rugged, no-nonsense workhorses

Introducing Massey Ferguson's all new compact tractor range

Massey Ferguson is expanding its product line with a new range of tractors from 38hp to 73hp. Four models make up the new MF2600 Series which offer a rugged, general purpose tractor designed to tackle a number of tasks around the farm. “The basic philosophy behind the MF2600 Series tractor is to provide an efficient, dependable, and durable product for the value-minded customer, “says Ross Greig, product manager for Massey Ferguson utility tractors.

With innovative styling, user-friendly controls, and a roomy operator’s area, the MF2600 lineup delivers a level of comfort that is surprising in a utility tractor.

Powerful Simpson® 3 or 4 cylinder diesel engines provide plenty of grunt in either a naturally aspirated or turbocharged configuration. “Simpson® diesel engines have a heritage dating back more than a century,” says Ross. “Much of the engineering process and know-how comes from the licensed manufacture of legendary Perkins engines and their influence can readily be seen in the design and performance of all Simpson® engines,” adds Ross.

The legendary Massey Ferguson 3-point linkage system puts the operator in total control making light work of jobs such as mowing, grading, and tilling. All models meet the ASAE standard for a category I and II hitch. The ball-ends are cross-drilled with the diameters of both categories reducing the time it takes to change over implements. Three pumps are standard to provide the necessary power for all hydraulic circuits. One hydraulic pump provides convenient power steering for improved tractor control; a second pump provides auxiliary hydraulic flow to external implements and attachments and a third pump is the Ferguson system for controlling the rear 3-point hitch.

An 8 x 2 CentreShift transmission takes control to use all the power at your disposal efficiently. Eight forward and two reverse speeds provide a level of efficiency and simplicity of operation.

For further options, the top three horsepower models come in either 4WD or 2WD configuration, providing the best option to accommodate most applications and conditions.

“We’re proud to release the new MF2600 Series tractors,” says Ross. “They’re honest, hard-working tractors, which have been designed for ease of use and easy maintenance, so you spend more time at the task at hand and getting the job done quickly. “If you’re after a rugged workhorse with practical, no-nonsense features, then check out the new MF2600 Series,“ adds Ross.

The new models are due to arrive in July 2010, contact your local Massey Ferguson dealer or visit http://www.masseyferguson.com.au/ for more details.
